Tree Chopper

The TreeChopper can be installed on ATVs that are 400cc and larger. Smaller ATVs should have 4 wheel-drive and can only be used to cut smaller trees.
The mounting bracket attaches to the frame/skid plate of your ATV and must be heavy metal. Secure mounting is necessary for safe and successful use of the TreeChopper.
The mounting bracket is securely affixed to the ATV frame by using (at least) 4 straight or u-shaped bolts which are not included.

The TreeChopper
The TREECHOPPER is designed and manufactured by ATV-X, Inc. and attaches to most All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs). Its simple yet effective design allows the TREECHOPPER to float over even the roughest terrain while cutting a variety of unwanted trees and vegetation. By utilizing an ATV as the workhorse, the TREECHOPPER can cut trees quickly in a variety of conditions and environments.

The TREECHOPPER can safely cut trees up to four inches in diameter and very close to ground level which is necessary to lessen the possibility of re-growth.

The TREECHOPPER takes the labor out of tree growth management and puts fun back into work!

Some grinding or flattening of the ATV mounting area may be required. This is done to insure that the mounting bracket fits securely to the frame of the ATV. It may be necessary to drill holes through the mounting bracket and the ATV frame/skid plate.

The mounting bracket must be fastened tight to the frame or metal skid plate. If there is a plastic skid plate between the bracket and the frame it will need to be removed so that the bracket tightens flat against the ATV frame.

Operation

The TreeChopper can be raised and lowered by attaching a lifting device (winch, ratchet strap, chain) and using the hook on the chassis. This allows for quicker travel to and from the cutting areas while the TreeChopper is in the raised position

Thee TreeChopper cuts by lining up so that the trunk of the tree is center to the cutting blades. Once the tree trunk is centered and you have cleared the area of debris you are ready to cut.

You approach the tree from approximately 6 to 10 feet. Accelerate the ATV in forward motion through the tree. Impact should be minimal. Once you have gained confidence and experience with the tree trunks 2 inches diameter and less you should be ready to cut bigger tree trunks of up to 4 inches.

Parts and Service

Parts may be ordered through your dealer or by contacting ATV-X Inc.

The TreeChopper should require very little service. It is important to keep the cutting blades clear of debris when in use. Before cleaning the blades you simply lower the TreeChopper to the ground, stop the ATV, and turn off the ignition. Then carefully remove any stuck debris making sure to avoid hand or foot contact with the blades.

After cutting, wash the TreeChopper with low pressure water spray and then use lubricating oil on the blades to prevent rusting.

It is recommended that all major service work such as blade replacement be performed by a factory certified dealer.
